Our employees clean your cart so you don’t have to. Our carts are 64 gallon capacity commercial carts which are delivered on a regular schedule to meet our customer needs.
If you are considering participating in the organics collection program, but are unsure due to concerns about pests or odours, consider these possible solutions:
- Don’t store green carts in the sun. Choose a dry, shaded, and well-ventilated area whenever possible as bright sunlight and heat accelerate decomposition of organic materials and will increase odours.
- Don’t skip a collection day! Even if your cart is less than full, put it out for collection so that the materials don’t develop strong odours.
- Vinegar, baking soda and salt help reduce odour.
- Garden lime sprinkled in carts will kill maggots if they appear.
